I"m interested in learning more about:

    The EmpowerMate™ - Student Den

*The EmpowerMateTM is a student the same age as your child, or just a few years older, who is a peer mentor.

Our EmpowerMates are National Honor Society students in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in high school.

We added the element of the EmpowerMateTM for students who need assistance – whether homework help, study skills, or just plain old emotional support – because we found students want to do better for other students than if it were a parent or another teacher. It’s that simple.

An EmpowerMateTM acts as a genuine role model. They often go to the same school, know and can relate to the personalities of the same teachers, and they are familiar with the frustrations of recently learning the material.

Being at student den has been a mutually beneficial experience. While I can help fellow students become the best students they can be, I can also have the material I explain to them fresh in my mind to help me in my own school work. I meet all different kinds of students and I love being able to gain some insight into their academic and extracurricular lives while helping them understand a new topic in math, chemistry, social sciences, or English. I hope that I am able to see these students long enough to really observe them embark on their academic journey all the way to college.
